Organic Gordolobo
Botanical: Verbascum thapsus | Also called Mullein, Cowboy Toilet Paper, Aaron’s Rod
Tall, velvety leaves and bright yellow flowers from the mullein plant, used for over 2,000 years across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Known as “nature’s lung herb” and “cowboy toilet paper” for its soft, soothing leaves. Mild, pleasant flavor with earthy notes.

Alkaline health benefits
Gordolobo is the #1 lung and respiratory herb in traditional folk medicine, rich in mucilage, saponins, and flavonoids:

Respiratory support: #1 traditional use worldwide. Demulcent mucilage coats and soothes irritated lungs, throat, and bronchial tubes. Expectorant action helps loosen mucus and clear congestion
Cough relief: Antispasmodic properties calm dry, hacking, and spasmodic coughs. Traditional remedy for bronchitis, asthma, croup, and smoker’s cough
Lung cleanser: Used to expel mucus from deep in the lungs. Folk remedy for pneumonia recovery, COPD, and environmental lung irritation
Ear health: Flower oil is the #1 traditional remedy for earaches and ear infections. Anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial for ear canal
Throat soothing: Mucilage relieves sore throat, hoarseness, and laryngitis. Coats irritated tissues
Anti-inflammatory: Flavonoids and iridoid glycosides help reduce inflammation in respiratory tract and joints
Lymphatic support: Mild lymph mover used to reduce swollen glands and support lymphatic drainage
Digestive calm: Soothing to the gut lining. Used for diarrhea, stomach cramping, and hemorrhoids
Pain relief: Topical poultice for joint pain, burns, and hemorrhoids. Anti-inflammatory and emollient
Sleep aid: Mild nervine properties promote relaxation and restful sleep, especially when coughing disrupts rest

Taste & use
Mild, earthy, and slightly sweet. Soft and soothing — pleasant even for children.

How to use:
Tea: Steep 1-2 tsp dried leaf/flower in hot spring water 15 minutes, covered. Strain through cloth to remove fine hairs that can irritate throat. Drink 1-3 cups daily.
Steam: Add to hot water and inhale for deep lung congestion.
Flower oil: Infuse flowers in approved oil for ear drops. 2-3 warm drops in affected ear.
Smoke: Traditional use — dried leaves smoked for asthma and lung congestion.
Poultice: Rehydrate leaves and apply to chest, joints, or skin.

What makes it different
Gordolobo is called “nature’s toilet paper” because the soft, fuzzy leaves were used before toilet paper existed. The tall yellow flower stalk can reach 8 feet and was dipped in tallow to make torches — hence “Aaron’s Rod.” Unlike harsh expectorants, mullein is both soothing and clearing — it calms the cough reflex while expelling mucus. The fine hairs on the leaves must be strained out or they irritate the throat. One of the few herbs safe for long-term lung support. Grows in disturbed soil, pulling minerals from deep in the earth.
